The works demonstrate that the practices of capoeiras are not unique, crossing different social groups, revealing Brazilian society. Perhaps this enabled capoeiras, or some capoeiras, to become capoeiristas, to fight the repressive actions supported by article 402 of the 1890 criminal code, and to transform capoeira into martial arts, sport and physical education. Representatives of different social groups, practitioners of capoeira, met again. It was no longer Camisa Preta, Manduca da Praia, Antonio Boca de Porco and Nascimento o Grande. The meeting aimed to place capoeira among the international struggles, being it the only national one, built in Brazil; these were the claims of the main protagonists. Mestre Zuma, Mestre Bimba, Mestre Sinhozinho, Mestre Pastinha emerged, new approaches, new sources, new objects for a world of capoeiristas who (re)invented a tradition.
