Biriba berimbau stick – natural wood from Bahia

The biriba stick is a traditional element used to play the berimbau. It offers a natural, light and smooth playing feel. Each piece is made from biriba wood originating from Santo Amaro (Bahia, Brazil). The wood is alive and can react slightly to humidity, which may cause a natural slight curve.

Important information

Biriba is a natural wood that can slightly bend or straighten depending on humidity.
For a perfectly straight and more rigid stick, tucum can be a better alternative. Please note: this is not a berimbau verga, but a playing stick (baqueta) for berimbau.
