Book of 84 pages in Portuguese on the history of Macaco Beleza writing Frede Abreu.
The book addresses the life of Manuel Benício dos Passos, better known as Macaco Beleza, a Bahian capoeirista, abolitionist, monarchist and leader of the Bahian Black Guard in street conflicts.
Macaco Beleza organized the Massacre do Tabuão, an attack carried out against republicans who were holding a rally in favor of the establishment of the Republic, on June 15, 1889. Armed with sticks, canes and stones, Macaco Beleza and his gang repressed the rally, ending the act.
