The book contains 168 pages and has a structure divided into three parts, each dedicated to a specific aspect of Master Felipe's life.
The first part of the book is made up of biographical accounts of master Felipe, which range from his childhood to his insertion in music and Capoeira Angola. Readers will have the opportunity to learn in detail about the master's career, including his relationship with family, his work, the influence that music had on his life and his capoeira masters. Furthermore, this section allows readers to better understand how Capoeira Angola became a passion for Master Felipe.
The second part of the book is dedicated to the master's memories, what he saw and experienced in Santo Amaro, especially about Besouro Mangangá, Nôca de Jacó, Mestre Popó and the tragedy of the Municipal Market. As much as the first, this section brings a more personal and emotional tone to the book, as readers will have access to master Felipe's memories and experiences. The relationship with Mestre Popó is particularly important, as he was one of the main encouragers of the master to join Capoeira Angola.
Finally, the third part of the book is reserved for master Felipe's studies on capoeira, through orality and his experiences in relation to the technicality of Capoeira Angola. In this section, readers will have access to valuable information about learning, development, behavior and enjoyment of capoeira. Orality is especially important for understanding the culture of Capoeira Angola, as much information is transmitted orally by masters and more experienced fans.
