Brass dobrão for berimbau. This is a brass piece, rather heavy, which replaces the stone (or pebble) to play the berimbau. It is one of the accessories of the berimbau like the wand or the caxixi.

Made in Portugal by CapoeiraShop.
The dobrão is the name of a Portuguese and Brazilian currency that circulated during the reign of Dom João V (1707-1750). Considered the largest coin of intrinsic value in circulation in the world

The name also refers to a Spanish coin, worth two shells or 32 reais.
